Osmanthus and Wolfberry Jelly

Years  ago, we may be ignorant about the Osmanthus flower, but since the local famous Chinese restaurant chain offers this dessert on their menus, it has become popular

The Osmanthus flowers are used throughout East Asia for their scent and flavour, which is likened to apricot and peach and easily obtained from Chinese medical halls in Singapore.
Traditional Chinese medicine claims that Osmanthus improves complexion and helps rid the body of excess dampness and supports healthy respiratory system.......

I need no further convincing, anything that says " improves appearance" is good enough reason for me. Not that I need it, but maintenance people, we all need maintenance.

You can do a combination of both the Osmanthus and Wolfberry jelly or each on its own.

Since this is an easy dessert to do, I offer here 2 variations:
Osmanthus Jelly and Wolfberry Chrysanthemum Jelly
I used bottled Chrysanthemum tea here instead of plain water for wolfberry jelly.

I never had any balance left when I served these jellies, talk about vanity!


You will need:
For Osmanthus Jelly
2 teaspoon of Osmanthus flowers
2 teaspoon of wolfberry (soaked in hot water for 15 minutes)
water (depending on the brand of your Konnyaku jelly powder) 500ml - 1000ml
1 packet of Konnyaku Jelly Powder


Method:
1. Rinse and drain the Osmanthus flowers them to the boiling water/tea.




2. Reduce the heat and let the flowers infuse in the water for about 5 minutes.
(You may remove some of the Osmanthus flower if you do not like to bite into the petals in the jelly)

3. Add in the jelly powder and stir until dissolve.

4. Turn off the heat and pour it into the moulds




5. Just before the jelly set, give it a stir it so that the Osmanthus flowers will not remain/float on the top.

6. Refrigerate the jelly until set (few hours) and served chilled


You will need:
For Wolfberry Chrysanthemum Jelly
2 teaspoon of wolfberry (soaked in hot water for 15 minutes until puffy)
bottled chrysanthemum drinks (depending on the brand of your Konnyaku jelly powder) 500ml - 1000ml
1 packet of Konnyaku Jelly Powder
